Ryan Blaney Texas Motor Speedway Post-Race

The good news for Ryan Blaney (@RyanBlaney22), driver of the No. 29 Cooper Standard Ford F-150, was that he scored his 15th top 10 finish of the 2014 season Friday night in the WinStar World Casino & Resort 350 at Texas Motor Speedway.  The bad news was that he lost five points to the leader in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship standings.

Blaney finished ninth and is 23 points behind the leader with two races remaining to decide the series title.

And it was no small feat that Ryan was able to finish inside the top 10.  He battled an electrical problem early in the race which forced the team to change batteries on his truck during the second caution of the race on lap 77.

He restarted 17th when the race went green on lap 81 and during this next green flag run Blaney said his truck had picked up a vibration.  Fortunately the third caution of the race slowed the pace on lap 97, giving crew chief Chad Kendrick and the team a chance to pit one lap later for four tires and check the truck.  Blaney restarted 14th when the race went green on lap 101.

He benefited from a good restart following the fourth caution on lap 114.  Ryan restarted 14th in line but worked his way up to seventh place by lap 127.  The fifth caution came out on lap 139 and Blaney pitted one lap later for four tires.  He restarted 11th on lap 142 and picked his way cleanly through the final frantic restart on lap 150 to post a ninth-place finish.
