The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series teams arrived at Texas Motor Speedway for the second race of the season in the Lone Star State. The No. 77 OtterBox team was quick during practice, posting top-10 speeds during both sessions. The intensity was high as knock-out qualifying began, with teams deciding which strategy would play out in their favor. Germán Quiroga advanced to the second round of qualifying, but waited to join the final pack of drivers to make an attempt at advancing to the final round. The No. 77 machine failed to cross the start-finish line before the time expired, earning him a 15th-place starting position for the race. As soon as the track was green for the WinStar World Casino & Resort 350, Quiroga found his pace and settled into the middle of the pack. With 107 laps remaining, Quiroga reported a vibration, forcing the team to pit under green-flag conditions. The No. 77 pit crew gave the OtterBox Toyota Tundra four fresh tires and fuel, and Quiroga immediately noticed the difference. He quickly began making his way through the field, breaking into the top 10 and remaining there for much of the race. Quiroga found himself running seventh when a caution came out on lap 139. The team took advantage of their earlier pit stop and when the leaders drove to pit road, crew chief Butch Hylton made the call to stay out. Quiroga led the field to the green flag for the restart and remained there for 12 laps. The caution flag was displayed again right before Quiroga took the white flag as the leader, which meant that the race would end in a green-white-checkered finish. Following the restart, the Mexico native battled for the second position but spun on his older tires and finished the race in the 15th-position.

Unfortunately, we had an older set of tires on our Toyota Tundra than the rest of the leaders, and I wasn’t able to fight for the lead with the green-white-checkered finish. We have two more races to go this season and hopefully I can make a trip to Victory Lane. All the guys on my team have been working hard and I would love to get them there.”
