Tyler Reddick: BKR Martinsville Post-Race

Tyler Reddick (@tylerreddick), driver of the No. 19 Broken Bow Records Ford F-150, scored a very respectable sixth place finish in the Kroger 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race Saturday afternoon at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway.  Reddick claimed his sixth top 10 of the season in the 200 lap race.  He grabbed Sunoco Rookie of the Race honors for the sixth time in 2014.

Reddick started 10th and did a nice job staying out of trouble early.  He was running seventh when he made his first pit stop during the fifth caution for four tires on lap 104.  He restarted back in 20th place when the race went green on lap 111 – mainly due to differing pit strategies employed by the competition.

On lap 129, Reddick was running outside the top 20 when then race was slowed by the seventh caution.  Crew chief Doug Randolph chose to pit on lap 131 for four tires and the move worked well.  The race went green on lap 135 and Reddick began to steadily working his way through the heavy traffic.  By lap 158 he had climbed up to 10th place.

As his others’ tires continued to fade and the laps ticked off, Reddick continued moving forward.  He moved up to seventh place by lap 188.  Teammate Ryan Blaney slipped by for the position on lap 195 but Reddick quickly followed his teammate through traffic over the final five laps.  He picked up two more spots in the process to claim sixth place at the checkered flag.
