Talladega ends Early for Mason Mingus

Billy Boat Motorsports (BBM) made its second NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) start with rookie Mason Mingus at Talladega Superspeedway on Saturday, October 18.  The 19-year-old Brentwood, Tennessee native earned a career-best starting position of 10th but would ultimately finish 31stafter being involved in an early-race incident.

Mingus rolled off 10th for the 94-lap race at the 2.66-mile superspeedway feeling confident behind-the-wheel of his No. 15 Call 811 Before You Dig Chevrolet Silverado.  The first 10 laps were action-packed with three-wide racing in every turn.  On lap 12, multiple cars got into each other, collecting Mingus causing him to turn into the outside wall.  The incident unfortunately ended the day for the BBM team and resulted in a 31st-place finish.

“The guys at Billy Boat Motorsports gave me an awesome truck at Talladega, and I wish we had the chance to show it,” said Mingus.  “I’m thankful for the support from Call 811 Before You Dig and Diamond Equipment every weekend as I continue to battle for Sunoco Rookie of the Year in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.  I am confident in this team and look forward to Martinsville next week.”

Up next for Mingus and the No. 15 Call 811 Before You Dig team is the Kroger 200 at Martinsville Speedway on Saturday, October 25 airing live on Fox Sports 1 at 1:30 p.m. EST.
