John Wes Townley heads to Las Vegas Motor Speedway looking for lady luck to be on his side in the running of the Rhino Linings 350 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race Saturday, September 27, 2014.
Townley piloting the No. 05 Zaxby’s Toyota Tundra has had two previous NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts posting a best finish of seventh-place position in 2013 on the 1.5-mile Las Vegas, Nevada track. He also has two Nationwide Series starts with a best result of 15th-place in 2010.
“I’m really hoping that some of this Las Vegas luck wears off on this Zaxby’s team,” John Wes Townley said. “We have had an up and down season so far and I’m really hoping to turn it around this weekend. Las Vegas is similar to Charlotte Motor Speedway; it is a fast racy track, not as fast as Atlanta but fast. Once rubber gets set in on the track it really fits my driving style. We’re bringing a new chassis to Las Vegas and hopefully, we’ll roll the dice and come up with a top-10 finish for Zaxby’s this week.”
The Rhino Lining 350 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race is slated to begin at 7:00pm PT and will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1, MRN Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio channel 90 beginning at 6:30pm.
