Spencer Gallagher to Gain Seat Time with Coulter Motorsports

GMS Racing driver Spencer Gallagher will compete at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway with Coulter Motorsports this weekend in the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South. Driving for teammate Joey Coulter, Gallagher will make his PASS South Super Late Model debut in Saturday’s 150-lap event with Coulter Motorsports.

Veteran crew chief Randy Renfrow will sit atop the pit box for the Las Vegas native.

“I’m super excited for my first race with Coulter Motorsports and the PASS South Super Late Models.” Gallagher said. “These cars are so much fun to drive, and they remind me of exactly why people get into our sport. The fact that I get to race at one of the most revered short tracks in existence in my No. 23 Chevrolet SS, at Hickory Motor Speedway, just makes it all the better.”

“I am really glad to see Spencer progressing the way that he is,” Coulter said. “The fact that he wants to run these extra races shows his dedication, his desire to constantly be better, and his drive to gain more experience.

“I think that Spencer and (crew chief) Randy Renfrow are going to have a blast together, along with Trevor (Noles) who is having a great year in our No. 2 entry”.

Gallagher decided that gaining more experience with valuable seat time is the best thing he can do to pursue the challenges of advancing his career in NASCAR’s top series.

Over the past eight years, Coulter Motorsports has fielded entries in a variety of late model divisions throughout the south east. The late model program began when NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) driver Joey Coulter joined with veteran driver Randy Renfrow in 2007. The duo has collected a number of top five and top 10 finishes, as well as a victory at the Southern National Speedway Thanksgiving Classic in 2008. As Coulter focused on his career as a driver within the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, the family team shifted their efforts to create a driver development program.

Coulter Motorsports has had great success with developing drivers, including such notable drivers as Gray Gaulding and Justin Allison. Currently, Trevor Noles is fielding an entry for Coulter Motorsports.

In addition to his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) Racing Series schedule for GMS Racing this season, Gallagher has made four starts for Lee Faulk Racing. The Nevada native picked up a ninth place finish at Langley Speedway in Hampton, Va. He has four more scheduled races with Lee Faulk Racing in addition to a number of tests.
