Brandon Jones NCWTS Preview: Bristol Motor Speedway

Thunder Valley…The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) heads to World’s Fastest Half Mile for the UNOH 200 Presented by ZLoop at Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS). Jones gets set to make his third start of the 2014 season and second at BMS. The 17-year-old made his first-career NCWTS start one year ago at BMS, bringing home a 27th-place finish. Jones also has two-career starts at BMS in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, with a career-best finish of eighth earlier this season.

Wolf Pack…Wolf Pack Energy Services adorns the No. 33 Silverado this week at Bristol. Wolf Pack Energy Services provides a range of products and services to the oilfield industry through two major subsidiaries, Wolf Pack Rentals, which specializes in temporary housing for work crews, along with related services such as electric generators, portable lighting, onsite water and sewage facilities. Along with Xxtreme Pipe services which offers pipe storage, inspection, threading and refurbishment.

Last Time Out…The last time the No. 33 Silverado competed in the NCWTS was back in June at Dover International Speedway. The race began with Jones starting in the 29th position after qualifying was canceled due to rain. As the race began, Jones quickly went to work, making his way through the field, and by the halfway portion of the race, Jones was up in the top 10 and looking for even more with a very fast No. 33 Chevrolet. From that point forward, Jones wouldn’t fall outside the top 10 on the racetrack. While running in the top 10, however, Jones fell one lap down to the race leader. A caution on lap 135 put Jones back on the lead lap, as he ran in the free pass position on the track. Jones then went back to work moving forward through the field. A caution on lap 158 brought the leaders down pit road, while Jones remained on track, overtaking the race lead. Jones led for three laps prior to settling into the third position. The Georgia native battled with the NCWTS veterans at the front of the field before eventually finishing the race in the fourth position.

Watch and Listen…The UNOH 200 Presented by ZLoop can be seen live on Wednesday August 20 at 8:00 p.m. EDT on FOX Sports 1. The event can also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as SiriusXM Satellite radio, Channel 90.

Brandon Jones on racing again at Bristol:

“I’ve been looking forward to getting back to Bristol in a truck since we were there earlier this season in March in the [NASCAR] K&N [Pro Series East] cars. We had a pretty good run, and after the test we did a few weeks ago I’m feeling good about our chances in the No. 33 Wolf Pack Energy Services Silverado. Hopefully we can run up in the top 10 throughout the night and bring home another solid finish.”
