Ben Rhodes NCWTS Preview: Bristol Motor Speedway

Third Time’s A Charm…Making his third of five NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) starts with Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM) this season, Ben Rhodes hopes to take Thunder Valley by storm in the No. 32 Alpha Energy Solutions Chevrolet Silverado. In his previous two NCWTS starts at Martinsville Speedway and Dover International Speedway, the 17-year-old had limited track time due to rain canceling or shortening practice sessions. This time around, Rhodes and crew chief Mike Hillman Jr. hope weather and luck are on their side as they take on the World’s Fastest Half Mile.

Experience at Bristol…Although this is Rhodes’ first NCWTS start at the East Tennessee track, he’s no stranger to success at the lightning-fast loop. In just two-career NASCAR K&N Pro Series East starts at Bristol, Rhodes boasts one pole award, one top-five and two top-10 finishes.

First in Quality. First in Service. First for You…TSM is happy to have Alpha Energy Solutions back aboard theNo. 32 Chevrolet Silverado for the third time this season. Alpha is a self-performing service provider specializing in HVAC, indoor energy solutions, building automation, chillers, boilers, electrical, plumbing and equipment rental. Their coverage area includes eight states surrounding their home base in Kentucky. Check their web site at http://www.alphamechanicalservice.com or find them on Facebook and Twitter (@AlphaMech).

Continuing to show their support for Rhodes and the No. 32 truck team, Alliance Comfort Systems, Kentucky National Guard, Park Community Credit Union and Refrigerant Rescue are also back aboard the TSM truck this week.

Previous Race Recap…The No. 32 TSM truck had a solid run at Michigan International Speedway on Saturday afternoon with Tayler Malsam behind the wheel.

After two solid practice sessions, Malsam advanced to the final round of qualifying and earned his best starting spot of the season. Throughout the 100-lap race, Malsam had the fastest truck on the track, and despite a stellar performance, Malsam came up short, claiming a career-best fourth-place finish after running within the top 10 for the vast majority of the race.

Watch and Listen…Don’t miss any of the action as the NCWTS heads to the Last Great Colosseum for a night of high-speed racing under the lights. The UNOH 200 can be seen live on Wednesday, August 20 beginning at 8:00 p.m. EDT on FOX Sports 1, and can also be heard live on MRN Radio as well as SiriusXM Satellite Radio, channel 90.

Ben Rhodes on Racing at Bristol Motor Speedway:

“I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel of the No. 32 truck this week at Bristol. This is one of my favorite tracks; we’ve had some success here in our two K&N races. I’m also looking forward to working with [crew chief Mike] Hillman [Jr.] again because I always walk away with more knowledge after working with him. I hope the weather cooperates with us this time around. Both times I’ve raced the truck this year, we’ve only been able to get a few laps on the track before the start of the race. I can’t thank all of my sponsors enough for giving me this opportunity to be in this truck this season. I think we’ve got a good shot at it this week.”
