Ben Kennedy NCWTS Preview: Pocono Raceway

Crossed Flags Ahead...The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) approaches the halfway marker as it heads to Pocono Raceway for the 11th event of the 22-race season. This will be the first event at the Tricky Triangle for Ben Kennedy, who heads into the race with one top-five and five top-10 finishes in 2014. Although he has never competed in a race at the three-turn track, the Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender tested an ARCA Racing Series car for Kyle Larson earlier in the season. Larson ultimately went to victory lane after leading 68 of 80 laps in the Pocono ARCA 200.

Previous Race Recap...Kennedy and the No. 31 team overcame an unlucky qualifying draw and a heat race spin to earn a top-15 finish in the Daytona Beach native's dirt track debut at Eldora Speedway. After taking the green flag from the 21st position, Kennedy learned quickly over the course of the challenging race, bringing home a 13th-place finish in the second annual Mudsummer Classic.

Ben Kennedy on Pocono Raceway:

"I've never had a chance to compete in a race at Pocono, but I tested Kyle Larson's ARCA car earlier this season to help out those guys, so I've gotten a little bit of experience at the track. I had a lot of fun and I learned a lot about the tunnel turn; you really have to get used to it. The straightaways are really, really long. It seems like a cool track overall and the people who run the place are good family friends, so it's somewhere I look forward to going to on a race weekend and taking it all in. I'm really excited to get behind the wheel of a truck there for the first time."
