Jr Heffner teams up with MB Motorsports

MB Motorsports returns to Eldora Speedway for the second annual 1-800-CarCash Mudsummer Classic with dirt track veteran JR Heffner behind the wheel of the #63 A. Colarusso and Son / Park East Sales / Snap On Tools Chevy.

Heffner, a native of Stephentown, NY, has been named Mr. DIRT Track USA three times.  “We tested with JR at Moberly speedway, which is the same track we first tested Carl Edwards on when it was asphalt,” says team owner Mike Mittler.  “We want to thank David Claypool and his staff for doing a great job with the track after an early morning rain that required the track being packed in.  The test went very well and we are looking forward to a strong run.”

Heffner agrees.  “I’m glad we had a chance to get some laps in together before we get to Eldora.  We were able to get our communication going pretty well in a short period of time, so we
should be able to come up to speed fairly quickly.”
Adds Mittler, “Anytime you work with somebody new, there’s a learning curve- in the communication between driver and crew, what that particular driver likes as far as how the truck is set
up and so on.  We were able to make some pretty good headway in a short period of time.”

“It’s great having a chance to race at Eldora with the last original team in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is very cool,” beams Heffner.  “There’s a lot of history with this team
and to be able to add my name to the list of their drivers is very cool.”

Mittler is proud of the way his team’s effort. "Our guys have really gone all out this season. We’ve made every race and when we hit a stretch of bad luck, no one gave up, they kept their
nose to the grindstone.  We worked our way through it and have a pretty good streak going right now.”

“I feel pretty confident that we can put on a good show for our partners at A. Colarusso and Son, Park East Sales and Snap On Tools,” notes Heffner. “I’m really looking forward to Eldora.”
