NCWTS: Kyle Busch Scores the Victory at the Kentucky Speedway

Kyle Busch took the checkered flag tonight at the Kentucky Speedway in the fourth annual UNOH 225 for his 135th career NASCAR top-three national series win. The victory tonight gives Toyota their 10th consecutive win in the series since Erik Jone’s won last year at the Phoenix International Raceway. It also was Busch’s sixth consecutive win in six total starts and breaks his previous record set twice of five.

Darrell Wallace Jr. came home with a second-place run at the 1.5-mile oval at the Kentucky Speedway. Wallace started in the second spot in the race and stayed up inside the top-five all evening long to lead a total of 34 laps. The run Friday night gave the 20-year-old his third top-10 finish here in the 2014 season. He was just 1.845 seconds behind Busch when he took the checkered flag.

Coming home in the third spot after struggling for most of the day was Ryan Blaney. Blaney captured his fourth top-10 finish this year and will use this as momentum going into the Iowa Speedway next weekend, a track where he’s had some strong runs and even a win. He finished 2.396 seconds behind the race winner.

Johnny Sauter will leave the Kentucky Speedway leading the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series points standings by eight points over his teammate, Matt Crafton. Peters heads into the next event sitting third after a fourth-place finish tonight. Ryan Blaney and Ron Hornaday Jr. round out the top-five.

The next race for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will be at the Iowa Speedway on July 11th. Race coverage will begin at 8:00 p.m. Et, live on FOX Sports 1. The Motor Racing Network will provide the live radio broadcast. Timothy Peters goes into the event as the defending race winner.
