Tyler Reddick Texas Post-Race

Tyler Reddick @TylerReddick), driver of the No. 19 Bulldog Ford F-150, was credited with a 21st place finish in Friday night’s WinStar World Casino 400 at Texas Motor Speedway.

Reddick started 12th and did a respectable job during the opening segment of the race, climbing into the top 10 by lap 33.  On lap 36, Reddick was racing with a lapped truck when the No. 19 got tight off Turn 2, nudging his fellow competitor and sending them for a spin down the backstretch, bringing out the first caution of the race.

Unfortunately a few laps later Reddick found trouble again.  On lap 43 he was in the outside lane in a three-wide battle for position off Turn 4.  The trio ran out of racing room off the corner.  Reddick made contact with one of his fellow competitors and the end result was a cut left front tire.  One lap later Reddick shot up the banking between Turns 3 and 4 and into the outside wall, sending him to the garage area for repairs.

He would return to the race and was able to gain valuable experience.  One bright spot for the team was that when he returned to the track, Reddick was able to run lap times comparable to the race leaders.

Tyler Reddick – No. 19 Bulldog Ford

F-150: “We fought through a lot and still had a really good Bulldog Ford F-150.  It was three-wide, just a racing deal.  I was on the outside.  I probably got the worst end of it because it body slammed both sides.  I was afraid we were going to have a tire go down there and we did.  There was nothing we could do about it.  The guys bust their butts on this truck every single week and when you tear a body up on one it just backs everything up.  After all the issues we had we came back and logged some pretty good lap times, as good as the leader and at times faster than the leaders with all the body damage we had.  That’s something to be very proud about.”

Doug Randolph – Crew Chief, No. 19 Bulldog Ford F-150: “It was a tough and frustrating night but we saw a whole lot of potential.  At the start of the race we got shuffled back but Tyler found a groove and man he started moving back up through there.  The incident was just racing.  He got body slammed but we thought we were going to be all right.  It looked like it broke a fender brace and that eventually poked a hole in the left front.  The guys did a great job getting it back out there.”
