Newly signed driver Dakoda Armstrong and his ThorSport Racing team held a press conference at Kentucky Speedway Thursday afternoon to unveil the paint scheme and sponsors that will decorate his No. 98 Chevy Silverado for seven races in 2011 and the full season in 2012. Ferrellgas and Agrisure Viptera will serve as the main sponsors of the truck, with Drive For Savings as an associate.
“I’m really excited about joining ThorSport Racing and I can’t wait to get to my first race at Iowa. It’s an honor to drive for a team that has so much history and success like ThorSport, and I’m looking forward to continuing that success. A big thanks to Ferrellgas, Agrisure and Drive For Savings for making this happen, because I wouldn’t be here with this opportunity without them,” Armstrong said following the announcement.
Team Manager David Pepper and Vice President of Motorsports Partnerships Matthew LaNeve also shared their feelings with the media on behalf of ThorSport Racing.
“ThorSport Racing is pleased with the recent expansion of our organization and the addition of Dakoda Armstrong and our third team. It’s an exciting time for us as we’re putting the finishing touches on our new state of the art facility, as well as welcoming Dakoda as a rookie to drive our No. 98 Chevy Silverado. He’s a great talent and he will have all the tools he’ll need to succeed.”
The Indiana-native will attempt his first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start next weekend at Iowa Speedway, where he’s had previous experience during his 2010 Rookie of the Year campaign in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards.
