Ryan Blaney (@RyanBlaney22), driver of the No. 29 Cooper Standard Ford F-150 grabbed a second place finish in the Lucas Oil 200 Friday afternoon at Dover. He has now finished third or better in two NCWTS races at Dover and he claimed his third top 10 finish in 2014.
Blaney started in 14th place and steadily worked his way toward the front. By the 60 lap mark he was inside the top five and as the 200 lap race neared halfway, he had climbed up to second place. He was hot on the trail of the leaders when he came to pit road for a scheduled stop on lap 134 during the fifth caution of the race. Unfortunately, two laps later Blaney was back in the pits because of a loose left rear wheel.
Ryan restarted seventh when the race went green on lap 139 and he began to once again work his way forward. He climbed up to third place by lap 170 and took second with just 15 laps to go. He gamely fought to catch the leader over the final miles but simply ran out of laps, taking the checkered flag in second place.
Blaney also gained precious ground in the series championship standings. He gained 20 points on the leader in the NCWTS championship standings, leaving Dover just 19 points behind first place in the standings.

“We had to start back in 14th place and we got up in the top five fairly quickly and were able to work our way to the front from there. They did a great job on pit road all day and having good stops and trying to gain us spots every single time.
