Riggs, RBR looking to rebound after Charlotte misfortune

Scott Riggs and the Ricky Benton Racing (RBR) Enterprises No. 92 Black’s Tire and Auto Service/Goodyear FleetHQ/Wynn’s Ford F150 team return to NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) action this week at Dover International Speedway for the Lucas Oil 200. Driver and team are looking to bounce back after a late-race incident at Charlotte Motor Speedway two weeks ago derailed a strong run for the team.

“I am proud of the team for the work they put in last time out at Charlotte to get the truck as good as it was (before the crash),” said Riggs. “We battled the handle on the truck in practice and the early part of the race, but had a piece there at the end (of our night) that, with some track position, could have had a solid top-10 finish.”

On lap 94, the truck of Tyler Malsam made contact with Riggs’ No. 92 Ford, sending him up the track and collecting Darrell Wallace Jr.’s Toyota. Riggs’s truck sustained heavy right side damage. The crew made several stops to repair the damage, but the team was forced to park the truck on lap 101.

Riggs finished the race 24th.

“Definitely not the finish we were looking for and you hate to tear up a good truck like that,” Riggs said, “but we will be back after them this week at Dover.”
