Kyle Busch Playing the Carolina Pick 4

Kyle Busch enters the N.C. Education Lottery 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) race at Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway with wins in each of his last three series starts at the 1.5-mile quad-oval and wins in each of his last three starts overall in NASCAR’s third division. Kyle Busch Motorsports’ (KBM) owner-driver will look to make it four in a row for both in Friday night’s 134-lap event.

Busch, who did not race in the 2012 Truck Series event in Charlotte, has found his way to victory lane the last three times he has competed in the Truck Series at the North Carolina facility and a track-record five times across seven starts overall. Last year, Busch overcame a few early obstacles and went on to lead a race-high 80 laps en route to victory. In 2011, he spun near the halfway mark of the race and then rallied for an emotional victory as he was paying remembrance to Zahra Baker – a 10-year-old Hickory, N.C. girl who was found slain in 2010. After he collected the checkered flag, he immediately walked to Bakers picture on the side of his truck and was “kissed by an angel.” In 2010, the Toyota Racing driver led a race-high 69 laps en route to the second victory for his newly established Truck Series program.

After winning the 2013 Truck Series finale at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway, Busch has opened the 2014 season with victories in each of his two starts, to give him three consecutive victories. The Las Vegas native dominated last week’s SFP 250 at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, putting his Tundra out front for 104 of the 167 laps en route to his first Truck Series victory at the Midwest venue. In the series-opening race at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway in February, KBM’s owner-driver picked up his first win in NASCAR’s third division and became the first driver to win in four different series (ARCA, NCWTS, Nationwide and Sprint Cup) at the famed track.

A special patriotic paint scheme will adorn Busch’s No. 51 Tundra on Friday night to raise awareness for the Hiring our Heroes program – a program that helps veteran, transitioning service members and their spouses find meaningful employment opportunities. KBM’s super hero will take to the ‘Carolina’ track looking to ‘pick’ up his ‘fourth consecutive Truck Series victory, both overall in the series and in NASCAR’s third division at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
