Spencer Gallagher’s Kansas Outing Cut Short

Every driver will say the bad days make the good days that much sweeter. Spencer Gallagher and the No. 23 Allegiant Travel team had a race to erase from their memory on Friday night at Kansas Speedway. But despite the outcome, the team learned additional information to carry into future NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events.

After partaking in the new qualifying format, Gallagher advanced to the second round and placed his Chevrolet Silverado in the 19th starting position. One lap after the green flag started the SFP 250, Gallagher was involved in a multi-truck accident, causing significant front-end damage and ending the night prematurely for the No. 23 team. Gallagher finished in the 30th position.

“It’s extremely disappointing,” said Gallagher after being evaluated and released from the Care Center. “My Allegiant Travel Chevrolet was absolutely wonderful and was going to be extremely competitive. It’s a shame our night ended before it really ever started because all of the changes Pickle (Ryan London, crew chief) made prior to qualifying were spot on. It was going to be solid race for our team. But we will go back to the shop, build another fast Silverado and try again at Iowa.”
