NCWTS: Kyle Busch Scores Victory in Kansas

Last night was one exciting NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at the Kansas Speedway, which was the first time the race was under the lights. Kyle Busch scored the victory after leading a dominating 104 of the 167 laps that made up the SFP 250. The win last night gave Busch’s 37th victory in the series after 117 total starts. The crew chief for the No. 51 team, Eric Phillips, said the tire that was showing cords because the set had around 80 laps on them.

Coming home in the second position and the new points leader was Matt Crafton. Crafton started the evening from the ninth spot and ran up front through most of the night but just couldn’t show anything for Busch. After making 14 starts at Kansas, which is one of the few drivers who has competed in every truck race there, he scored his sixth top-10 finish last evening and came into the weekend as the defending race winner. Crafton finished 3.020 seconds behind the race winner.

Finishing in the third position after a strong run by leading a total of 41 laps of the evening was Joey Logano. If anyone was going to beat Busch, it probably would’ve been Logano, as if he gotten a caution in the closing laps, Logano said he might’ve had something for the race winner. Making his second truck start at Kansas, Logano scored his first top-10 finish on the strong run.

Finishing in the 10th position was the highest finishing rookie, Mason Mingus. Mingus, who stayed out of the mayhem in the opening laps, drove a pretty clean race all night long. This was his first start here at the Kansas Speedway in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, but Mingus does have experience here under the lights as he ran the ARCA Racing Series race here in October, and Mingus said coming here to run that race was a huge advantage for them.

The next race for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will be next Friday at 8:00 p.m. Et, live on FOX Sports 1. The Motor Racing Network will provide the live radio coverage of the race, which will also start at 8:00.
