AkzoNobel to Back SS Green Light Racing

SS Green Light Racing is proud to announce they have partnered with the largest global supplier of paints and coatings for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Kentucky 225 on July 7th at the Kentucky Speedway.

David Starr and the SS Green Light Racing Team will feature AkzoNobel on the hood of the No. 81 Toyota Tundra on the Thursday evening race that kicks off the first-ever Sprint Cup race at the mile and a half speedway just outside of Cincinnati.

AkzoNobel supplies industries and consumers worldwide with innovative products and they are passionate about developing sustainable answers for their customers. The worldwide portfolio includes well-known brands such as Glidden, Dulux, Sikkens, Liquid Nails and Eka. AkzoNobel is also a major supplier of more than 2000 specialty chemicals to industries worldwide.

“The whole SS Green Light Team is excited to have AkzoNobel on our Toyota at Kentucky,” Starr said. “I know they have been a partner with our owner Ken Smith and his company ASI Limited for a long time and I’ve been around this business long enough to know the value of long-term relationships. I’m going to do my best to put the AkzoNobel/ASI Limited No. 81 up-front at Kentucky so we can continue to grow.”

“AkzoNobel has been a great supporter of our racing program for many years,” said SS Green Light Racing owner Ken Smith. “ASI Limited and AkzoNobel have had a longstanding relationship and they understand the values of business to business partnerships. The entire SS Green Light Racing team is proud to feature AkzoNobel on our Toyota at Kentucky.”

In addition to the NCWTS, AkzoNobel has been involved in Formula 1 racing for the last several years utilizing motorsports to help develop extreme environment technology for industrial applications.

“Ken Smith and the entire ASI Limited team have been excellent partners with AkzoNobel for several years and understand the benefits of partnering with quality people and companies to better service and support our businesses and industry,” explained Ben Mitchell of AkzoNobel’s building products coatings division. “I look forward to continuing our relationship both on and off the track for many years to come.”
