As They Race, NTS Motorsports Pair Will Raise Money for National Non-Profit, Project Child Safe

2012 Daytona International Speedway (DIS) NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) winner John King, has signed with NTS Motorsports to race the No. 20 Chevrolet Silverado in the Feb. 21 NextEra Energy Resources 250 (2/21). With sponsorship from GunBroker.com, Brennan Newberry will return to Daytona to defend his Keystone Light Pole Award from 2013 and race for his first NCWTS win.

As they race, both GunBroker.com drivers will be raising $24 for every lap they run in the top 10 during the race to benefit Project Child Safe (www.projectchildsafe.org), a national gun safety program sponsored by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF).

“NTS Motorsports is excited to sign John (King) to race the No. 20 Chevrolet Silverado at Daytona,” says team owner Newberry. “As a proven winner at Daytona International Speedway, I am confident John and the NTS Motorsports team will be contending for another victory at the season opener. Aligning with a company like GunBroker.com is the support our team looks for to win races and compete for the championship. I am thrilled to have Brennan (Newberry) back in the No. 24 Silverado to challenge for another pole and the win.” Twenty five year-old John King from Fort Blackmore, Virginia began his motor sports career in 2004, where he competed in regional late model racing. Making his NCWTS debut in 2010 at Bristol Motor Speedway, he won in his eighth series start at DIS. Having raced part-time in the NCWTS, King is looking forward to competing in the series again in 2014.

“Driving for a competitive team like NTS Motorsports is a perfect opportunity for me to add another important win to my resume and further my career in the sport,” explains King.

“Winning the pole position at Daytona was one of the highlights of my career, so far,” says Brennan Newberry. “Having support from GunBroker.com as a primary sponsor of our No. 24 Silverado team gives us positive momentum, rolling into the biggest race of the year. I’m looking forward to starting the season off with a bang!”

The NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway will air live on Fox Sports 1, February 21st at 7:30pm.
