Ickler to Make First Start of ’11 from the Seventh Spot

Brian Ickler, driving Kyle Busch Motorsports’ No. 18 Toyota Tundra, qualified seventh for tomorrow’s WinStar World Casino 400k NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway. Ickler, who was the 18th driver to take to the 1.5-mile track, turned his fastest lap, 30.324 seconds (178.077 mph), on his second trip around the quad-oval.

James Buescher captured the pole (30.16 seconds) for tomorrow’s 167-lap race. Joey Coulter will start second followed by Austin Dillon, Steve Arpin and Johnny Sauter. Todd Bodine, who qualified eighth, was the second-best qualifying Toyota driver.

“Eric Phillips and the guys did a great job of making adjustments to the No. 18 Tundra during both practice sessions today,” said Ickler. “Going into qualifying, my goal was to earn a top-10 starting spot.   I feel pretty good about the two laps we made and where we ended up in qualifying. I think that we’ll have a pretty good Tundra for tomorrow night’s race.”
