Ryan Blaney Phoenix Preview

Ryan Blaney (@RyanBlaney22), driver of the No. 29 Cooper Standard Ford F-150, will make his second career start at Phoenix International Raceway in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) during the Lucas Oil 150 on Friday night.

This weekend, Blaney will be aiming for the weekend double, piloting the No. 48 Discount Tire Ford Mustang in Saturday afternoon’s NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race for Penske Racing.

Last season in Blaney’s first start at Phoenix he started second and finished fifth in a very solid debut on the tough track. Blaney also has a 2011 K&N Pro Series West victory at Phoenix.

Doug Randolph will be calling the shots for Blaney at Phoenix.

The No. 29 BKR team currently sits eighth in the NCWTS driver points standings, 96 points back from first.

Currently, Blaney is second in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year race with 209 points, only one point back from the lead with two races remaining.

“Phoenix is a really awesome track and I’m excited to get out there later this week with my Cooper Standard team and make up some points from last week’s disappointing finish at Texas. I want to finish this season on a high note and it will certainly take a team effort this weekend at PIR to get back on track.” – Ryan Blaney
