John Wes Townley: Red Horse Racing Texas Motor Speedway Post Race Report

John Wes Townley came into Texas Motor Speedway with determination to collect his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory. The driver of the No.7 Zaxby’s Toyota Tundra has found immense speed on the intermediate program this season. Townley qualified in the 23rd position and was quick to make his way to the front during the WinStar World Casino 350.

The Zaxby’s Tundra gained eight positions in only 28 laps on a track where passing is difficult once the field stretches out. Townley made his way inside the top-10 after only 52 laps while battling a tight race truck. Townley had his eye on the prize and fought for position as the laps wound down, ultimately capturing a ninth-place finish. This continues his season of strong finishes on the intermediate tracks having collected four top-10 finishes in seven races. His ninth-place finish moved Townley up one position in the driver point standings to 12th.

John Wes Townley talks about his race at Texas Motor Speedway:

“It was a great race for our team today. I thought we were going to do a little bit better, but we got us another top-10 and are moving up in the point standings. We’ll have to keep the momentum going to Phoenix and see what we can do there. It was a good day overall for the Zaxby’s Toyota Tundra.”
