NCWTS: Ty Dillon Wins Wild Truck Race at Texas

Ty Dillon captured his third career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win tonight at the Texas Motor Speedway in his 45th start. Dillon led a total of 130 of the 147 laps that made up the 15th annual WinStar World Casino 350 for his eleventh top-10 finish in 2013. Dillon earned Richard Childress Racing’s 100th NASCAR victory across the three racing series.

Johnny Sauter ended up in the second spot when the race ended. Sauter drove his way to the front after starting from the eighth position this evening to score his 13th top-10 finish of this season. He lost tonight’s race by 2.662 seconds.

Ron Hornaday, Jr. grabbed another top-10 finish this season tonight at the Texas Motor Speedway for his ninth of the year after coming home third tonight. Hornaday could be near a win sometime soon after having some great runs going the last several weeks.

Darrell Wallace, Jr. was the highest finishing rookie in the seventh position. Wallace, Jr. started off the evening in the 17th spot. He goes into Phoenix International Raceway next week looking to capture his second win of the year in the series.

Matt Crafton leaves Texas tonight still with the points lead by 46 over James Buescher with two races remaining. If Matt Crafton can leave Phoenix Raceway next weekend with a 49-plus points lead over second place, he can clinch the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series title going into the season closure at Homestead.
