Max Gresham’s week is filled with the anticipation to become an electric cowboy this Halloween weekend, as he makes his semiannual visit to the Texas Motor Speedway.
For Gresham and the No. 8 Leviton / Made in USA Brand (MIUSA) Chevrolet, the time to ‘cowboy up’ is now as he heads to Texas Motor Speedway for Friday’s WinStar World Casino 350.
A country boy at heart, the Milner, Ga., native knows what it means to pull up his bootstraps and keep on riding. Leviton will join this weekend in association with the Made in USA Brand. This weekend at Texas, he plans to show everyone how to ‘cowboy up.’
With just three races remaining in the 2013 season, the Sharp-Gallaher Racing (SGR) driver will pilot a special green and blue paint schemed No. 8 Leviton / Made in USA Brand Chevrolet at the Fort Worth track, with Leviton bringing the electricity to this electric cowboy. Leveraging more than a century of experience, Leviton helps customers create intelligent environments with a variety of Made in the USA solutions including switches, wallplates, and standard and tamper resistant receptacles.
In three NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) starts at the 1.5-mile oval, Gresham has one top-12 finish with an average finish of 18.3. During his trip to the intermediate track in November 2012, Gresham passed 11 trucks in 100 laps before scoring his career-best Texas finish of 12th-place. In June of this year, he qualified 14th before a vibration signaled an end to any hopes of winning, resulting in a 22nd-place finish.
“The recent success we had at Las Vegas Motor Speedway where we finished 10th makes me very optimistic going into this weekend,” Gresham said.
Even more reason for optimism is that Gresham and the Leviton / Made in USA Brand team are coming off a solid 11th-place finish Saturday at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. In his first full-time season in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series the 20-year-old Gresham has one top-five and four top-10 finishes in 19 races.
As the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series returns to Texas for a Halloween weekend celebration, will it mean a trick or a treat for Gresham this Friday night? Gresham has reason to believe it might finally be time to grab the ultimate treat in the Lone Star State – the Charlie 1 Horse cowboy hat and a trophy in victory lane – as momentum has been building for the Sharp-Gallaher Racing driver with three consecutive top-11 finishes.
You can skip the trick or treating on Halloween on October 31 and opt to enjoy the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series’ practice sessions on Thursday. Flag-to-flag coverage of the WinStar World Casino 350 at Texas Motor Speedway is scheduled to be televised live on Friday, November 1 beginning at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time on FOX Sports 1.
