Kyle Larson NNS Preview: Texas Motor Speedway II

Fort Worth Fun…After a two-week break, the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) returns to action this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway for their final stop at the 1.5-mile track this season. Kyle Larson will compete in the No. 32 NTT DATA Chevrolet Camaro for Saturday’s O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge. Larson has one previous start at Texas Motor Speedway; in this year’s spring race, the 21-year-old was relegated to a 32nd-place finish after a blown left-side tire caused significant damage to Larson’s No. 32 machine and necessitated several laps of repairs.

Third Time’s The Charm…In addition to running the No. 32 NTT DATA Chevy in the NNS race for Turner Scott Motorsports, Larson will also compete in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday, November 3, driving the No. 51 Visit Dallas Chevy SS for Phoenix Racing. Sunday’s race will mark Larson’s third race at the Fort Worth, Texas track as well as his third NSCS race.

Welcome Aboard NTT DATA…This weekend, Chip Ganassi Racing Teams (CGRT) sponsor NTT Data will be aboard Larson’s No. 32 machine. After serving as primary sponsor on the No. 02 NTT DATA BMW in the Brickyard Grand Prix and the No. 8 NTT DATA Honda in the Indianapolis 500, NTT DATA joins CGRT partners Target and Cessna as the only sponsors to have run primary paint schemes in NASCAR, IndyCar and GRAND-AM during the 2013 season.

Drink. Drive. Go To Jail…The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) “Drink. Drive. Go to Jail.” campaign will appear on the No. 32 NTT Data Camaro this weekend, in support of a statewide effort to save lives and crack down on impaired driving. TxDOT has partnered with NTT Data to improve IT and other customer services for Texans.

This Week’s Camaro…Crew chief Trent Owens and the No. 32 NTT Data team have prepared TSM-409 for this weekend’s race. This chassis has been utilized just once, having made its on-track debut in the most recent NNS race at Charlotte.

Watch and Listen…The O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge will air live on ESPN2 on Saturday, November 2 with race coverage beginning at 3:30 p.m. EDT. The race will also be broadcast on PRN Radio as well as SiriusXM Satellite Radio, channel 90.

Previous Race Recap…Larson looked poised to earn his first NNS victory under the lights at Charlotte Motor Speedway. After starting in the eighth position, Larson consistently ran some of the best lap times on the track, leading 17 laps and showcasing his strong Chevrolet Camaro. Unfortunately, contact with the wall late in the 200-lap race damaged Larson’s right rear and his spoiler, which affected the handling of his No. 32 Target Chevy and led to a 13th-place finish.

Kyle Larson on Texas Motor Speedway:

“After a few weeks off from the Nationwide Series, it will be nice to get back in the 32 this weekend. In our last race at Texas Motor Speedway, we didn’t get the finish that we wanted, so I’m really looking forward to getting back. We’re bringing the same car we had at Charlotte, which was really strong, so I think this will be a good weekend for our NTT DATA team.”
