James Buescher NCWTS Preview: Texas Motor Speedway II

Home Sweet Home…For the second time this season, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) returns to James Buescher’s home track: Texas Motor Speedway (TMS). Buescher first got his start in racing on the grounds of TMS at the ripe old age of 12. Buescher has enjoyed much success at his home track, having won on all but one circuit at the TMS compound. Buescher and his No. 31 Rheem team will aim to make the Plano, Texas native the first driver to ever win a race on all the different circuits at TMS. Buescher comes into the weekend with four top-10 finishes, two career poles and 129 laps led at TMS.

 

Gotta Have a Rheem…The familiar Rheem colors are back on board the No. 31 this week. Rheem Manufacturing Company (www.rheem.com) is privately held with headquarters in Atlanta. Chassis Info…The Rheem team will bring back chassis TSM-217, otherwise known as “Stetson”, for the WinStar World Casino 350 at Texas Motor Speedway. This particular chassis earned its nickname when Buescher’s son Stetson made his track debut at Michigan International Speedway and the team visited victory lane for the first time in 2013.

 

Previous Race Recap…Buescher and his Rheem crew came into the Kroger 200 at Martinsville Speedway last weekend with nothing to lose and looked to rebound after an accident at Talladega Superspeedway the week prior. Starting the 200-lap race from the seventh position, Buescher had an up-and-down day, running as high as fifth and as low as 18th. After a spin on lap 129 dropped them deep in the running order, Buescher and his No. 31 Rheem team battled back to come home with a 10th-place finish. In the process, Buescher was able to gain some valuable points and moved back into second place in the NCWTS Driver Point Standings.

 

Speeding to Read…On Thursday morning, Buescher will be the honored host to nearly 3,000 elementary school students for the “Speeding To Read” program. “Speeding To Read” is a reading program that was created by Texas Motor Speedway to encourage elementary school students to read more frequently during the school year. The program began during the 2011-12 school year with Clara Love Elementary School and its 600-plus students serving as the pilot school for the program.

 

Watch and Listen…The NCWTS returns to Buescher’s home track for the WinStar World Casino 350 at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday, November 1 at 8:00 p.m. EDT on FOX Sports 1. The event can also be heard live on SiriusXM Satellite Radio, channel 90 and MRN Radio. Be sure to tune in on time as the Bueschers will be featured in a segment during the race’s pre-race show.
