Arriving at the historical 2.66-mile Talladega Superspeedway, Brennan Newberry and the No. 24 Qore-24 Chevrolet team earned the 15th starting position for the fred’s 250 and set themselves up for 94 laps of fast, action-packed racing.
Slipping a few positions in the opening laps, the No. 24 team took advantage of the lap seven caution to bring Newberry to pit road for fuel and adjustments. Following the pit stop, Newberry restarted the race in 27th-place.
Continuing to practice patience and learning the superspeedway draft, Newberry reported to the team on lap 25 from the 32nd position that his Silverado “feels good, tighter than usual, but otherwise it feels good.”
As the race continued and with coaching from spotter Rick Carelli, Newberry was told to hug the yellow line and that he was in a good position as a lot of other teams were also hanging toward the back of the field trying to stay out of trouble at a track known for the “Big One’ collecting multiple teams with one incident.
Unfortunately for Newberry, the first “Big One” occurred on lap 66 and he was collected in the multi-truck accident. With too much damage to continue in the race, Newberry was forced to retire his No. 24 Qore-24 Chevrolet to the garage, ending the team’s day with a 32nd-place finish.

“We had a really good Qore-24 Chevrolet and it was fun. We didn’t get the pole like we did at Daytona, so we were just riding around trying to stay out of trouble and be there at the end. I have to thank everyone at NTS Motorsports for building me a good truck. Hate our day ended the way it did, but we’ll move on to Martinsville next week and look for a strong run there. Thanks to Qore-24, Chevrolet and my family for this opportunity.”
