John Wes Townley: Red Horse Racing Las Vegas Motor Speedway Post Race Report

John Wes Townley and the No. 7 Zaxby’s Toyota Tundra team have found their strength on the intermediate track program this season. Townley qualified 18th for the Smith’s 350 and had his eye on another solid top-10 finish as soon as the green flag waved. Picking off trucks one-by-one, Townley drove a smart, steady race laying back when it made sense to do so. Crew chief Mike Beam coached the driver to pit road for fuel at every chance he had.

That didn’t stop the driver, as he continued to find himself back inside the top-10. The driver was in sixth place on the final restart with three laps remaining aiming to tie his career best finish. At races end, Townley finished seventh, collecting his fourth top-10 finish of the season and second seventh-place finish. This also moves Townley up one position in the driver point standings.

John Wes Townley talks about his race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway:

“It was another great night with our Zaxby’s Toyota Tundra. I’ve been having a lot of fun this year with Red Horse Racing and it feels really good to be up front battling inside the top-10. The intermediate track really fits my driving style and I’m looking forward to capturing my first top-five finish before season’s end.”
