Timothy Peters: Red Horse Racing Las Vegas Motor Speedway Post Race Report

Timothy Peters came to Las Vegas Motor Speedway hoping to cash in on the Smith’s 350. The No. 17 Parts Plus Toyota Tundra driver knew his team was capable of winning the race after his second time out on track in first practice. He qualified 12th but quickly moved into the top-10 after the green flag waved. Under crew chief Butch Hylton’s direction, the team calibrated pit strategy to assure the Parts Plus Tundra would be there at the checkered flag. Peters battled side-by-side for position inside the top-five while closing in on the race leaders.

Scored in second position on the final caution, Peters executed a textbook restart gaining the lead with three laps to go. Peters never looked back and went on to capture his second win of the season and seventh in his career. The win marked Peters’ 10th top-10 finish in 2013 and moved him up to sixth in the driver point standings.

Timothy Peters talks about his race win at Las Vegas Motor Speedway:

“”This is huge. I want to know if I can take my name off the short track deal now and put it on the mile-and-a-halves. Thanks to Tom DeLoach (team owner) and Butch (Hylton, crew chief) for giving me a great Parts Plus Tundra. It was a crazy race. Fans got their money’s worth and we appreciate them coming out and supporting us.”
