Team owner speaks before congress, heads to Kentucky Speedway

Everyone in the NASCAR garage knows team owner Mike Mittler.  His MB Motorsports is one of the original teams in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.  They also know him from his machine tool business, as almost every race shop uses his companies’ equipment.  What they may not realize is that Mittler has spoken not once, but twice, before Congressional committees, most recently last week, before the House Small Business Committee.

Mittler was invited by Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-3) to come to Washington and participate in a hearing titled Made in the USA: Stories of American Manufacturers, which featured representatives from manufacturers across America discussing the re-emergence and accomplishments of small American manufacturers.  According to Mittler, “I had the opportunity to speak on behalf of our nations’ small business owners and I would like to thank Rep. Luetkemeyer for the opportunity.”

With that behind him, Mittler and the MB Motorsports crew head to Kentucky Speedway for the UHOH 225, where driver Justin Jennings will race the #63 Mittler Brothers Machine & Tool / LG SEEDS Chevrolet Silverado.

“Kentucky will be our third mile and a half track this season with Justin, first at Kansas and then Texas,” says Mittler. “Each time out, he just gets better and better.  No matter the conditions or what’s happening on the track, this kid stays calm, cool and collected.  I can’t say enough about him.”

Jennings is looking forward to his first visit to Kentucky Speedway.  “Our team runs well on the intermediate tracks.  Now that we have a couple of races on mile and half tracks under our belt, I think we’ll be more prepared than ever.  As always, we just want to have a good showing for the folks at LG SEEDS, stay out of trouble and learn as much as we can.”

The UNOH 225 marks the fifth race LG SEEDS, the third largest corn seed company in the US, has partnered with MB Motorsports.
