Coast to Coast Justin Lofton Goes Asphalt to Dirt

Coming off a successful multi-race weekend two weeks ago by capturing the Best in the Desert Silver State 300, and competing in the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks Round No. 4 at Qualcomm Stadium the Southern California hot-shoe will once again attempt for another successful double duty weekend.

Justin Lofton will attempt an incredible feat by competing in two races on opposite sides of the United States in one weekend by competing in both the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, in Concord, N.C., on Friday night and then making the 2,300-mile cross country trip on Saturday to race in the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks round No. 5 in San Diego, Calif.

“I’m pumped to get back in the ESR No. 6 to defend last year’s win, it’s been a tough year not running all the events, but I’m going to make the best of this opportunity and go for the win again for ESR and MadVapes!” Stated Lofton.

After the 200-mile NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race, Lofton will board a plane and fly across the country to San Diego, Calif., tackling the tight corners and high flying jumps of SST qualifying heat races and 20-lap final.

After missing SST qualifying on Friday night, USAC and SST officials will regulate Lofton to start at the back of the second qualifying heat, giving the Brawley, Calif., native the opportunity to prove his driving skills in front of the many hometown fans from the Imperial Valley.

The Solar City / Imperial Valley Full Plate / Weekend Warriors Productions No. 6 sits just 40 points behind leader Rob MacCachren of Las Vegas, Nev. in the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks Championship point standings and just two points behind P.J. Jones in the third position.

The NC Education Lottery 200 will air live from Charlotte Motor Speedway this Friday, May 17 with coverage starting at 7:30pm (EST) on SPEED. Please check your local listings for broadcast times.
