“We need a win…” said Friesen in a post race interview after losing a 3-lap shootout to the checkered with Johnny Sauter. The Sprakers, NY driver was certainly a little disappointed with the outcome of Friday’s race.
Today (Monday June 11th) Friesen heads to Berlin Raceway with his no. 112 Super Late Model car for the 2nd Annual “Money in the Bank” ARCA CRA Super Series race. This will be Friesen’s 3rd outing in the 112, having finished second in both previous attempts at Nashville’s Fairgrounds Speedway and Bristol. Friesen’s first victory in the series seems just as imminent as a win in the NCWTS.
Friesen, who rarely takes a break from racing, will head from Berlin straight to Albany-Saratoga Speedway for the Jack Johnson / C.D. Coville Tribute race on Tuesday, June 12th. Instead of his usual no.44 dirt modified, Friesen will drive the legendary C.D. Coville #61 DKM Cyclone.
Post race, DKM will be auctioning off the left side of the car (door panel and quarter panel) and raffling off the right side of the car for $5 per entry with all proceeds going to the Crossroads Center for Children. Friesen’s NCWTS team owner, Chris Larsen of Halmar International, has graciously offered to match all proceeds from the auction and raffle. Both C.D. Coville and Stewart Friesen will autograph the panels for winners. The panels are even hand lettered by “Custom” Bob Niemietz who hand lettered the original C.D. Coville car in 1986.
Friesen is very passionate about supporting the Crossroads Center for Children in Glenville, NY, who provide support for special needs children, including his son Parker. Learn more about the center at http://crossroadcenter.org/
