Salvatore Iovino Secures Full-Time Ride with Copp Motorsports in 2018

Copp Motorsports announces today that current NASCAR K&N Pro Series driver, Salvatore Iovino, will drive full-time in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (CWTS) for the organization next season.

The 33-year-old Los Angeles, Cali. Native has a different story than your average NASCAR driver. Iovino, whose abundant racing experience did not start with NASCAR, began racing professionally in 2012 in the NHRA Super Pro and Pro Dial classes where he won several championships.

Continuing to build upon his driving experience, Iovino began racing in the NASCAR All-Whelen Modified Series and in the NAPA Super Late Model Series, where in a short time he earned a pole and three top-10 finishes.

Advancing to the next step in his racing career, Iovino made his first NASCAR K&N Pro Series start halfway through the 2016 season at Stateline Speedway in Post Falls, Idaho where he finished 17th. Despite only completing half of the season, he won the Most Popular Driver Award in the West Series.

“Salvatore [Iovino] definitely brings a unique background to our program, says Copp Motorsports Team Owner, DJ Copp. “He has shown tremendous ability to work hard, learn fast and is 100% a team player. Copp continues, “I have always had a passion for providing opportunities to those trying to get involved in the sport and I hope to build a great program with a great driver.”

“My entire life has been about breaking barriers and setting goals that others say won’t happen or are too difficult to achieve”, exclaims Iovino. “That is what sets me aside from other drivers and motivates me to go beyond anything I could ever dream of. This opportunity goes without saying that you can do anything you want in life, as long as, you maintain positivity and aren’t afraid of hard work. I can’t thank Copp Motorsports enough for having faith in me to become a driver that can go out there and be competitive. Right now, I will be taking advantage of getting the needed seat time and additional experience in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series this season”.

Stay tuned for future announcements regarding Iovino’s sponsor, truck number and Crew Chief, which will be released at a later date. In the meantime, follow Iovino on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to keep up with his K&N Pro Series efforts.
