ASA Sanctioned Skagit Speedway has Great Momentum Going into the 2012 Season

The off-season has been very busy for Steve Beitler and his staff at Skagit Speedway, an ASA Member Track in Alger, WA. At the beginning of 2012, Beitler was nominated for the Auto Racing Promoter of the Year. He also brought in some new staff members who are fitting in very well. These two things are a great momentum builder for the 2012 season.

“I’m excited about the 2012 season.  Our car count looks like it is growing nicely in all classes, and our fans are very excited,” Beitler said. “We’ve added some new members to our speedway team and everyone has worked very hard this winter. I am looking forward to a great 2012 season.”

Skagit’s 2012 season opens on Saturday, April 21 at 7:00pm.  They will kick off their 58th season of racing with 410 Sprints, 360 Sprints, Sportsman Sprints and Outlaw Hornets.  The track is open for practice on Saturday, April 7 and Saturday, April 14.

Along with some new staff coming on board during the off-season, Skagit Speedway also made some major improvements to their pit area in order to accommodate more haulers.  This past week, the staff was busy putting up billboards and power washing the grandstands.

Beitler also said that an advance ticket sale for their three major events is going well.  Those three major events include the Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup on June 14-16, 360 Nationals on July 27-28, and the World of Outlaws on August 31-September 1.  Tickets are on sale now by calling 360-724-3567.

Skagit Speedway is also returning as an ASA Member Track for the 2012 season.  “We’re happy to continue our association with ASA Racing,” Beitler exclaimed.  “It has been a good relation for the race track and the racers.”

“We are very proud to have Skagit Speedway as part of our ASA Member Track program,” Dennis Huth, ASA President said.  “Steve Beitler and his staff have done a great job with their exciting schedule and race program.  Steve’s unique marketing approach is catching the attention of other promoters. For his efforts, he has been nominated for the Auto Racing Promoter of the Year two out of the last three years.  Even his Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup has won awards at the RPM Workshops and WARPA convention.  We wish them continued success in 2012.”
