TriStar Motorsports Post-Race Report: Homestead Miami

 

Ross Chastain Finishes 14th: After starting 25th in the No. 10 Watermelon.org Camry, Ross Chastain was ready to get the Ford EcoBoost 300 started. On lap 23, Chastain was running in the 27th position. Chastain brought the No. 10 Camry to pit road for four tires and fuel on lap 75. Scored in the 26th position, Chastain and Crew Chief Bruce Cook discussed coming to pit road for four tires and fuel. On lap 91, Chastain brought his car to the No. 10 crew and was able to get back on the lead lap. At the halfway point, Chastain was running 25th and when the caution came out at lap 111, Chastain radioed in and said he didn’t think his car had any damage from the wreck. On lap 120, Chastain pitted for four tires, fuel and an adjustment. After Chastain received the Lucky Dog on lap 127, Chastain was scored in the 25th position with 70 laps to go. Restarting 16th with three laps to go, Chastain was ready to gain positions on the restart. When the checkered flag fell, Chastain crossed the line 14th.

 

Blake Koch Finishes 22nd: Blake Koch and the No. 44 Celsius Flo Fusion Camry qualified 22nd on Saturday afternoon. Koch reported early into the run that his Camry was tight in turns one and two, while running 21st on lap 13. On lap 55, Koch was scored in the 22nd position. When the second caution flag waved, Koch came to pit road for four tires, fuel and adjustments. On lap 87, Koch was running in the 22nd position and when the third caution flag was shown Koch came to pit road for four tires, fuel and additional adjustments. Running 22nd at the halfway point, Koch was reporting to Crew Chief Greg Conner that his Camry was loose. With 37 laps to go, Koch was running 27th and after a green-white-checker finish Koch brought home a 22nd place finish.

 

Mike Bliss Finishes 23rd: Mike Bliss and the No. 19 Tweaker Energy Shot Camry qualified 18th for the Ford EcoBoost 300. On lap 23, Bliss was scored in the 25th position and was asking his team for adjustments on their pit stop. After the first pit stop, Bliss radioed in and reported that his Camry was loose in, especially in turn three. Bliss was scored in the 24th position on lap 87 and brought his Camry to pit road for a wedge adjustment and a track bar adjustment. At the halfway point, Bliss was running 26th and with 70 laps to go, Bliss had gained five positions and was scored in 21st. When a late race caution flag was shown, the No. 19 team got ready for a green-white-checker finish. Bliss brought home a 23rd place finish in the final race of the 2014 season.

 

Eric McClure Finishes 26th: Eric McClure and the No. 14 Hefty®/Reynolds Wrap® Camry qualified 27th for the final race of the 2014 season. Early into the race, McClure reported that the No. 14 Camry lacked both frontand rear grip. The team addressed the handling issues during the first caution, but when the second caution flag waved, the car was tight onceagain. Eleven laps after pitting for tires, fuel and adjustments, McClure informed the team that the car was still too tight in the turns. After the green flag waved for the final time, McClure advanced two positions in the final three laps to post a 26th-place finish in the Nationwide Series season-finale at Homestead Miami Speedway.
