ModSpace Returns to Gilliland’s No. 38 at Charlotte

Modular construction provider ModSpace will once again be featured on the No. 38 Front Row Motorsports Ford this weekend during the Coca-Cola 600 at the Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway.  It’s the second time that driver David Gilliland will carry the colors as a primary so far this season.

The Berwyn, Penn.-based company works closely with team owner Bob Jenkins and his quick-service restaurant company to build new Taco Bell and Long John Silver’s locations.  ModSpace provides modular buildings, portable storage and services for temporary or permanent space needs.  Building on more than 40 years of experience, ModSpace serves a diverse set of customers and markets – including commercial, construction, education, government, healthcare, industrial/energy and special events – through an extensive nationwide branch network throughout the United States and Canada.

ModSpace has constructed buildings for renowned clients ranging from the Professional Golf Association (PGA) to General Motors, IBM and the U.S. Army.  For more information on the company and its projects, visit www.ModSpace.com.

One project that the company will focus on this weekend is helping Gilliland find victory lane.  A 600-mile race, fuel mileage and other race tactics have led to new winners in the past.  Gilliland, who has a best finish of 25th at the track, is looking for his first Sprint Cup Series win this weekend.

“ModSpace is very honored to be the primary sponsor on the No. 38 car this weekend,” stated William Mann, Vice President of Motorsports for ModSpace. “With this race being held on Memorial Day weekend, it is our salute to the troops. This team has worked so hard this season and we hope to see them in Victory Lane Sunday.”

Comments from ModSpace Driver David Gilliland Heading to Charlotte:

“I always look forward to the races that are a little bit different than the norm.  The superspeedway races, the road course races and even the Coca-Cola 600 this weekend are all opportunities for us a race team.  We’ve improved so much as a race team, even from last season, but we still need to find that extra little trick to help us get over the top of some of the bigger teams.  A race that’s a little bit different, like a 600-miler, that’s an open door for us to sneak in a win.

“The races recently, with less cautions, it’s more about strategy and survival.  You add in an extra 100 or 200 miles from a normal 400- or 500-miler, you just never know what can happen.  Fuel mileage has played a part in this race, tires have played a big part and, of course, mechanical issues have made a difference.  I think anything can happen, and if we just stay focused, we can possibly pull a rabbit of the hat and win this thing.

“Pat (crew chief Pat Tryson) and I have been working well the past month or so.  Our cars are pretty good and I feel confident.  We have some notes from last weekend that we’ll take into this weekend, too.  I just feel pretty good about it.  We have the people from ModSpace who will be joining us this weekend.  They will bring some added excitement, too.  I think it’s going to be a fun Memorial Day weekend for all of us.”
