Jordin Sparks To Sing National Anthem for 59th Annual DAYTONA 500

Multi-platinum recording artist, actress and DAV Ambassador Jordin Sparks, whose faith-based film God Bless The Broken Road will be in theaters early 2017, will perform the National Anthem for the 59th annual DAYTONA 500 NASCAR premier series race at Daytona International Speedway on Sunday, Feb. 26 (TV – FOX, FOX Deportes; Radio – MRN Radio, SiriusXM).

“We’re thrilled to have Jordin Sparks be a part of the pre-race ceremonies and sing the National Anthem prior to the DAYTONA 500,” Daytona International Speedway President Chip Wile said. “Jordin is an incredible talent and we look forward to her rendition of the National Anthem before the start of the 59th ‘Great American Race.’ ”

God Bless The Broken Road tells the story of Amber (Lindsay Pulsipher), a young mother whose husband makes the ultimate sacrifice while serving in Afghanistan and she struggles to raise their young daughter (Makenzie Moss) in his absence. Sparks plays Amber’s close friend, Bridgette. The film combines elements of faith, country music and stock car racing while paying tribute to those who serve in the United States military and their families. A portion of the film’s profits will go to DAV (Disabled American Veterans). http://godblessthebrokenroad.com/

Sparks was the season 6 winner of American Idol. In addition to a successful recording career, she has branched out to pursue an acting and Broadway career, starring in films such as the music film Sparkle, The Grace of Jakes, Left Behind and The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete.
