NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Matt Kenseth to visit Philadelphia on Aug. 31

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series star Matt Kenseth, a three-time winner at Dover International Speedway and the 2003 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion, will visit Philadelphia on Wednesday, Aug. 31, throw the ceremonial first pitch at a Washington Nationals-Philadelphia Phillies game, and greet fans at a social-media meet-up. The time and location of the fan event will be shared via Facebook and the @MonsterMile Twitter and Instagram accounts on Monday afternoon.

During his visit, Kenseth, the driver of the No. 20 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, will greet players from both teams, make an appearance on Comcast Sportsnet’s “Philly Sports Live,” participate in an interview with the Phillies’ radio team and be available for interviews by other TV, print and radio outlets.

Kenseth clinched a spot in the 2016 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship playoffs with a victory in the “AAA 400 Drive for Autism” at the Monster Mile on May 15.

Kenseth’s appearance comes in advance of the Sept. 30-Oct. 2 NASCAR tripleheader weekend at Dover International Speedway, which features the first elimination race of the 16-driver 2016 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship playoffs on Sunday, Oct. 2. For four drivers, their championship dreams will be over in Dover.

In addition to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race, the NASCAR weekend at Dover International Speedway includes the Saturday, Oct. 1 “Drive Sober 200” presented by the Delaware Office of Highway Safety NASCAR XFINITY Series race and the Friday, Sept. 30 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race.
