Evergreen Raceway Revises Remainder of 2016 Schedule

Due to the number of divisions racing per day and also due to the number of cars in some of those divisions, Evergreen Raceway has made its final schedule change of the 2016 racing season. Drivers and fans were waned weeks in advance that the changes were coming and with its official release, track management is excited for the remainder of the season.

Several updates have been made and for the most part, track officials did their absolute best to stick with four divisions of racing on the card weekly. When meeting over the weekend, they discussed their first annual ‘King of the Green’ weekend, which is slated for the weekend of October 15. The last points event of the season will pay 100 championship points to each competitor across the board and each division will run extended lap events for a higher purse. More information regarding King of the Green will be released in the upcoming weeks.

With low car counts in the Pro Stock division, track management has decided to cut the class in combine it with their current Street Stock division. The rule amendment for the Pro Stocks compete in the division will be addressed with the Pro Stock and Street Stock drivers at the drivers meeting on Sunday, July 31. The Pro Stock points are frozen and now official since their last event.

The Dirt Modifieds are on the racing card for July 31 and the Late Models, Street Stocks, Factory Stocks, Four Cylinders and Vintage TQs will also be in action as well. Grandstand admission is just $8. Children 10 years of age and younger are admitted for free with a paying adult.

A portion of the grandstand entry proceeds will be donated to the family of John Kostanesky, who is from nearby Beaver Meadows and recently passed away.

The pit gate will swing open at 10:30 AM and the pit entrance fee is $30 with any track pit license or $40 without. Practice will kick off at 12:30 PM and heat races will begin at 2 PM. The grandstand gates will open at noon.

Evergreen Raceway is located minutes from Hazleton, PA, in between routes 93 and 309.
