Alabama Native Grant Enfinger Inducted into the IMHOF ARCA Wall of Champions

Fairhope, Alabama native and 2015 ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards Champion Grant Enfinger was inducted into the ARCA Racing Series Wall of Champions on Thursday at the International Motorsports Hall of Fame outside of Talladega Superspeedway.

Enfinger, who is back at the legendary 2.66 mile tri-oval this weekend, will not be behind the wheel of the No.23 Chevrolet for the General Tire 200 on Friday, but instead he will be on top of the pit-box calling the shots for ARCA rookie and Munford, Alabama native Bret Holmes. Holmes will make his Talladega Superspeedway debut at his “home track.”

The ceremony in the IMHOF was held alongside ARCA President Ron Drager as well as other ARCA and Talladega officials from across the racing spectrum. Enfinger was humbled by his induction, but was still focused on the task at hand, winning the General Tire 200 and making sure that young Holmes has the best car possible to run on the biggest and baddest track in the world.

“It’s really special for me to have a lasting image here on the ARCA Racing Series Wall of Champions at Talladega,” said Enfinger. “Being an Alabama boy, this is where is all started for me. MY dad and I  would always come up here to watch the races and to be a part of the International Motorsports Hall of Fame is truly humbling.”

When asked about what he was looking forward to the most during race week, the answer was stated without hesitation.  Winning the General Tire 200.

“Its Bret’s (Holmes) first superspeedway race and we are focused on that right now and getting a good car ready to run on Friday, but the thing about Talladega is you never know what is going to happen. We are looking forward to making this a special weekend at Talladega and hopefully we can get the No.23 into victory lane.”

Enfinger, the first ARCA Racing Series national champion from Alabama, will be now be forever enshrined on the historic wall and will forever be a name tied to Talladega Superspeedway and the ARCA racing series.
