Gateway Motorsports Park Hires Director of Events to Enhance Fan Experiences

Gateway Motorsports Park officials announced today that Megan Hazel has joined the staff of Gateway Motorsports Park in the new position of Director of Events.

Hazel will oversee Gateway Motorsports Park ticketing and credential staff, supervise new event development and focus on the overall customer experience at the largest outdoor venue in the region.  “As our business continues to grow, our need for talented staff expands,” said Chris Blair, General Manager and Executive Vice President at Gateway Motorsports Park.  “Our goal is to have our ticketing, social media, marketing and public relations efforts working together to maximize our promotional footprint.”

Hazel comes to Gateway Motorsports Park from World Racing Group (WRG) where she has served as a promoter for the World of Outlaws and DIRTcar brands.  She oversaw all advertising for WRG throughout the season including billboards, print, TV, radio and digital advertising. She was responsible for all ticketing functions of World of Outlaws events and managed track event operations.

From 2005 to 2011, Megan was a key member of the ticketing and events departments at Charlotte Motor Speedway.  She was responsible for event activation at multiple tracks including Z-Max Dragway, Dirt Track and oval, was the primary staff member for the Food Lion Auto Fairs and Goodguys car shows, managed street teams, coordinated cross-promotional opportunities and handled pre-event preparation and post-event plans.

“Having worked with Megan on events with the World of Outlaws, I know she is a hard worker who will take great pride in improving our event experiences for fans and participants,” said Blair.

The vision for the new Gateway Motorsports Park is to create a racing lifestyle that attracts enthusiasts, professionals, amateurs and car lovers by harnessing the energy and passion of the thousands of racing fans in the heart of the Midwest.
