Bobby Gower And JR Moore Win Three In-A-Row At Dillon Motor Speedway

Dillon Motor Speedway hosted the Herald Office Systems 200 on Saturday, May 23.

Late Model driver, Bobby Gower won his third straight win at the speedway after holding off defending track champion, Randy Benson and Tim Allensworth. Justin Hicks finished fourth, and BJ Mackey rounded out the top-five. The 60-lap feature boasted an entry list of 17 drivers.

Bryan Blackwell won the first stop for the Pee Dee Coastal Super Truck Series at the speedway this season. However, it didn’t come without a challenge from Clay Thomas, Kevin Parsons, Hal Goodson and Kerry Lawrence who rounded out the top-five.

Brian Owens claimed his second win in a row in the Charger division. Ben Watford finished second, followed by Dale Driggers who claimed his first top-three of the season. Darlington’s Wayne Locklair finished fourth, and Jimmy Miller rounded out the top-five.

In the Street Stock division, it was Ricky Locklair Jr. taking the checkered flag. AJ Hyatt was the runner up, and Locklair Jr.’s father, Ricky Locklair Sr. finished third. Sonny Schoffen finished fourth, but he claimed victory in the first ever Mid Atlantic Street Stock (MASS) event at Concord Speedway that took place on Friday night. Ron Flynn rounded out the top-five at Dillon Motor Speedway on Saturday.

JR Moore won his third Pure Stock Four feature in a row at the speedway. He now has four career victories in the division. Emory Herring finished second, followed by Steve Lauffer, Andy Norton and Randy Montgomery.

The next event to be held at Dillon Motor Speedway will be the inaugural race on the 1/7th-mile asphalt track located in the infield. Legends, Bandoleros, Go-Karts, Champ-Karts and Mini Cups will all compete on Saturday and Sunday, May 30-31.

As for the next stock car event, the speedway will host the First Citizens 200 on Saturday, June 13. The event will include the Late Models, Chargers, Street Stocks, Pure Stock Fours, Mini Cup Stocks and Ford Flatheads.
