Early Success for Pocono Raceway and ID.me Partnership

Pocono Raceway and ID.me, an award-winning identity verification service, began their partnership two months ago in May 2014. “The Tricky Triangle” has utilized ID.me technology to provide members of the military and their families a 15-percent military and veteran discount to their annual motorsports events, including this Sunday’s GoBowling.com 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. Throughout the integration process, ID.me worked diligently and collaboratively with other digital providers to develop a solution that worked with all parties.

“Right from the first meeting with ID.me earlier this year, we knew this was going to be a success,” said Pocono Raceway President/CEO, Brandon Igdalsky. “It has been enthusiastically received by military members who have used the military benefit we offer them. The process has been seamless and we are thrilled at what we have done together thus far. This is only the beginning of the partnership and we cannot wait for what the future holds with this technology.”

Through ID.me, members of the military can have their identity instantaneously verified against an authoritative database and relayed to Pocono Raceway to take advantage of military benefits for the GoBowling.com 400 for themselves and their families. Once verified by ID.me, members of the military need only to enter a user name and password to receive discounts at Pocono, as well as dozens of other event venues and online retailers by visiting www.id.me/partners.

“Pocono Raceway has been a long-time supporter of the military community and we’re proud to partner with them in a way that drives more awareness of the benefits they offer this community,” said ID.me COO and co-founder, Matthew Thompson. “The raceway became the first NASCAR track to implement ID.me’s identity verification solution, allowing them to quickly and accurately ensure military affiliation when tickets are purchased online.

“As an added thank you to those military taking advantage of the discount, ID.me recently hosted a giveaway in partnership with Pocono Raceway, which awarded 50 members of the military attending the race with free tickets to the ID.me hospitality suite.”

Founded by two Army Rangers, ID.me is a digital identity network that enables brands to securely offer exclusive promotions to specific communities by verifying the consumer’s group affiliation. Previously, retailers had no way to offer special discounts online for groups, as there was no widely adopted solution where brands could easily see if a consumer was eligible for a particular promotion.

To take advantage of the benefit to upcoming races at Pocono Raceway, U.S. military servicemen and women can visit http://www.poconoraceway.com/military.html and get verified with ID.me to receive the discount.
