Martin-McClure Racing: Dover Pre-Race Release

As the 2016 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East season draws to a close, Chad Finchum and the MMR team prepare the #39 Reynolds Wrap Toyota Camry for competition at the “Monster Mile.”

Finchum made his first start at Dover International Raceway one year ago driving for Martin-McClure Racing in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. In that event, Finchum was running in the 9th position late in the race when his engine expired prematurely. The team plans to build on that momentum this weekend as Finchum brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge of racing on high-banked concrete oval tracks. Dover International Raceway shares many characteristics with Bristol Motor Speedway where Finchum secured his first victory in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East as well as the first victory for the MMR organization earlier this season.

Veteran Crew Chief, Chris Carrier, will return to lead the MMR team and Finchum at the Dover 125.

Eric McClure:

“I’m excited to get to Dover. We had a strong run going there last year and it served as sort of a springboard to what we felt we were capable of as a team.

Chad’s done a good job in his limited schedule this year and we were able to get our first win with him earlier in the year. This is a good track for him and we are optimistic for a solid weekend.”

Hal Martin:

“This season, we have been successful beyond my wildest dreams for a first year organization. To go out and secure three victories, the first of which with Chad Finchum, will be some of the happiest memories of my professional career in NASCAR.

This weekend, I hope to achieve the same success and help Chad hone in on his skills at tracks like Bristol and Dover where he thrives. We’ve prepared a fast car for him and we’re ready to compete.”

Chad Finchum:

“The last race is bittersweet I guess you could say. How this year has already passed us up, and we are headed into the last race of the season. Dover is a lot like Bristol in many different ways: The concrete, the banking. You can apply so many things from one track to another. After having huge success early at Bristol and knowing what kind of speed was in the car for that track, it definitely puts momentum and confidence going into Dover! I’m so excited to get out there and for all of us at MMR to have a good, fun time and also, hopefully back up what we accomplished at Bristol! All in all, it’s been a great season. I was able to work with a heck of a team and I’m so thankful for the opportunity! Like I said, it’s bittersweet because it’s the last one, but super excited to get behind the wheel of the #39 Reynolds Wrap Toyota at the Monster Mile!”
