NASCAR Next driver eager to return to New England’s Magic Mile

After a stretch of short-track racing on the NASCCAR K&N Pro Series, Jesse Little and his NASCAR Technical Institute Racing Team head to New Hampshire this week for the running of the Granite State 100.

Little is still in contention for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East championship as the division heads into its second half of the season, The Sherrills Ford native can climb into the top-5 drivers standings with a solid New Hampshire outing, he noted.

Last season the 17-year old third-generation driver scored a sixth-place finish in this event, which serves as motivation to aim higher.

“We had a really good car at New Hampshire last summer and I’m looking forward to getting back up there and running in the front again. Our one-mile program is very strong.”

Little brought home two top-5 and three top-10 finishes in his three starts on one-mile tracks in 2013.

“I love the speed the car carries on the big tracks. It makes you work as a driver to be smooth and not get the car out of the racing line. We’re bringing a good package to New Hampshire that should allow our Chevrolet to handle well on the track’s flat corners. That’s the key to the race is having a car that will stay in the groove through the corners and not wear out the tires.”

Having a brake package that works well underneath his car will be essential to performance as well, Little added.

“With New Hampshire the speed of the straightaways has the car entering the corners with the need to gently use the brake so that as a driver you can carry as much of that (speed) with you upon exiting the turn. Our Performance Friction Brakes do that for our car as good as anything out there and I know it’s one the of reasons we can contend for a strong finish this weekend.”

This weekend’s race marks the beginning of four consecutive races for Little, as he’ll crisscross the country running in NASCAR East and Western divisions of the K&N Pro Series.

“We’ve got New Hampshire this week then we’re off to Columbus Motor Speedway for a short-track show then head to Colorado before coming back to Iowa Speedway. It’s going to be busy for sure but that’s the part of summer I enjoy most is getting to travel, seeing the fans turn out to support the K&N Pro Series and hopefully challenge for wins along the way,” Little said.
