George Brunnhoelzl III Wins NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour Race at Langley

It took until the fourth race of the 2014 NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour season for George Brunnhoelzl III to score his first win of the season. He took the checkered flag first in Saturday night’s Courtyard By Marriott/Pepsi 150 at Langley Speedway in Hampton, Virginia.

The win extends his Southern Tour record for wins to 21 in his career. Brunnhoelzl took the lead from Andy Seuss on lap 84 and went onto lead the final 69 laps. Ryan Preece started from the pole at the 0.396 mile track but Andy Seuss, who had won two of the first three races on the season, took the lead on the opening lap. Preece then took the lead on lap three and led until Seuss passed him on lap 62. He relinquished to Brunnhoelzl, who had started fourth, on lap 84.

Finishing in third was David Calabrese. He started in 15th. Luke Fleming was fourth and Ryan Preece fifth.
