Steve Wallace, Ross Kenseth to compete in 7-UP 150 Saturday at Toledo Speedway

Second-generation race car drivers Ross Kenseth and Stephen Wallace, both sons of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champions, are scheduled to compete in the 7-Up 150 stock car race at Toledo Speedway this Saturday, April 12.

Toledo’s 2014 season opening race will see Kenseth and Wallace headline a field of more than 40 drivers from throughout the country in a 150 lap “Border Wars” event, pitting the ARCA/CRA Super Series and the ARCA Midwest Tour late models.

“It means a lot to have racers like Stephen Wallace and Ross Kenseth compete in the 7-Up 150,” said CRA President Glenn Luckett. “Not only are they good racers, their names will be ones that fans will recognize and hopefully want to come out and see compete against the best of the ARCA/CRA Super Series and ARCA Midwest Tour.”

Ross Kenseth’s father, Matt Kenseth, won the NASCAR Sprint Cup championship in 2003 and has 31 career Cup Series wins – including seven in 2013. Stephen Wallace’s dad, Rusty Wallace, was the NASCAR Cup series champion in 1989, owns 55 career NASCAR Cup victories and is a member of the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

The “sons of famous fathers” have enjoyed success in their own right.

Kenseth won the pole in his ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards debut in 2013 at Madison Int’l Speedway in Oregon, Wis.
