23rd for Jason Bowles at Chicagoland

Riding the recent wave of momentum, Jason Bowles and his American Majority No. 81 Toyota team rolled into Chicagoland Speedway ready for another strong weekend.  After an excellent qualifying effort as always from Jason, the team would start the STP 300 in the 17th position.  It was a long afternoon however for the American Majority No. 81, as the team fought a tight condition throughout the race, and finishing in 23rd place.

“It was just a tough weekend getting the handle on the race car,” explained crew chief John Monsam.  “It was loose during practice and then tight during the race.  That’s racing though and the guys kept their heads high and we still recorded a decent finish.  I’m really proud of all of them.”

Bowles and his team continue to be strong in qualifying, as they have been all season.  The 17th place effort was the 5th top-20 start in the last six races for the American Majority No. 81.

Following the race, Jason Bowles remains 13th in the 2012 NASCAR Nationwide Series Driver Standings.  Jason sits just 39 points out the top-10 with 15 races remaining in the season.

Next up for the MacDonald Motorsports team is one of the biggest races on the schedule.  The NASCAR Nationwide Series will make their first trip to the most famous race track in the world, Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  Fans can watch the Indy 250 live on ESPN this Saturday, July 28th at 4PM EST on ESPN.
