Armstrong & RPM Know Kansas

This weekend’s NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Kansas Speedway is the first race of the year at the one-and-a-half mile track, but both Dakoda Armstrong and the No. 43 WinField team has proven successful at Kansas.

Armstrong has a total of four starts at the track in different racing series, including one start in the Nationwide Series in 2013 where he finished 19th. After two starts in the truck series, Armstrong has an average finish of 13.5. He also has an 11th place-finish from an ARCA start in 2010.

It’s hard to dispute that the Nationwide team at Richard Petty Motorsports has Kansas figured out. In two starts, the team has an average finish of 10th, earning their best finish of eighth in 2012 with Michael Annett behind the wheel.

“Kansas has a lot of grip. You have a lot of speed and the handling hasn’t been too big of an issue, but clean air is really important. Now, you’re going into the turn wide-open, so the balance of the car has to be good and track position will be pretty important. For me, I think I did better at Kansas before it was paved, but this team has been pretty good there the last two races so I think we’ll have a pretty successful weekend.”
